A two-day MoWaCLIM project event took place in Dubrovnik-Neretva County bringing together experts and stakeholders focused on sustainable agriculture and climate resilience in the Neretva Valley.

The event included a scientific and professional workshop, as well as field visits to monitoring stations in Metković and Opuzen. Participants explored the growing challenges of soil salinization and climate change affecting citrus and other crops, with experts presenting the latest monitoring data and pilot area assessments from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Seven monitoring stations have been installed across the Neretva Valley to collect key data on water, agriculture, and biodiversity. This information will be integrated into the HydroAgroCloud digital platform, supporting the development of practical guidelines for sustainable agriculture in the region.

The MoWaCLIM project aims to reduce the impact of climate change and seawater intrusion on the valley’s fertile land. Co-financed through the Interreg IPA CBC HR-BA-MNE Programme 2021–2027, with a total budget of €1.5 million, the project will run until August 2027.
