The great interest for the 2nd Call for Proposals within the Interreg VI-A IPA Programme Croatia–Bosnia and Herzegovina–Montenegro 2021–2027 was shown with the astounding number of 188 applications received on the Friday, 6 June, when the deadline for the applications ended.

Applicants have collectively requested 190.8 million euro in EU co-financing—more than six times the available budget. For this 2nd Call, 29.9 million euro in EU funds has been allocated for project co-financing.

The high level of interest among applicants is clearly reflected in the impressive number of registered partners — a total of 764, including 291 from Croatia, 272 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 201 from Montenegro. The Call, which was launched on 6 March 2025, to support joint projects aimed at strengthening cooperation between Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro

This Call provided an opportunity for applicants to develop and submit innovative projects addressing key areas such as innovation, research and entrepreneurship, green investments in environmental protection and efficient risk, health services, sustainable and inclusive tourism and culture. The number of applications received reflects the interest and enthusiasm for cross-border collaboration in the region.

With the closure of this Call, the Programme will begin the process of evaluating the proposals. The selected projects will be those that demonstrate the greatest potential for enhancing cross-border cooperation and contributing to the development of both countries.
